TMF G.R.O.W. Program in San Antonio
Healthy breathing, proper jaw development, and restorative sleep are the foundation of whole-body health. At our San Antonio biological dental practice, we have developed the TMF G.R.O.W. Program — a framework of principles designed to guide our patients on their airway journey.
Growth - Healthy Jaw & Facial Development
We evaluate each patient’s anatomy and development compared to where they ideally should be. If this area is impacting their health, there are a number of tools available to help grow the dental arches for best oral and systemic health in combination with a bone-building diet.
Respiration - Nasal Breathing & Breathing Exercises
Nasal breathing and proper diaphragmatic breathing are crucial for overall health. This will help regulate your nervous system and provide nitric oxide to your heart. We discuss ways to improve breathing habits and determine if there are causes for poor nasal breathing.
Optimal Function - Tongue Function, Jaw Alignment & Movement
We evaluate the entirety of the mouth, including tongue motion, muscle attachments, and bite patterns. We also assess posture, pain points, and walking patterns that could be contributing to misalignment.
Wellness and Sleep Optimization
Our overall goal is to achieve optimal health and restorative sleep. Functional testing and nutritional guidance are provided to reduce dental disease and promote bone growth.

FAQ
Q: What makes the TMF G.R.O.W. Program different from regular orthodontics?
A: Traditional orthodontics focuses primarily on straightening teeth for esthetic and functional alignment. The TMF G.R.O.W. Program addresses the underlying causes of crowding, narrow jaw development, and poor breathing — including nasal breathing habits, tongue posture, jaw growth, nutrition, and sleep quality.
Q: Do I have to commit to the entire program or can I just do one part?
A: The G.R.O.W. Program is a framework of principles, not a rigid all-or-nothing protocol. Some patients benefit most from targeted lifestyle changes and breathing retraining, while others pursue more involved treatment including expansion therapy or myofunctional therapy. We meet you where you are and build a plan based on your goals, your schedule, and your readiness to engage with the process.
Q: How do I know if the G.R.O.W. Program is right for me or my child?
A: The best starting point is a comprehensive airway evaluation. During this visit we assess jaw development, breathing patterns, tongue function, sleep quality, and overall oral posture. From there we can identify which areas of the G.R.O.W. framework are most relevant to your situation and discuss what a realistic path forward looks like.
